Initial Equipping Session

 The first stage of the training cycle which trains people to facilitate Healing Groups. This equipping session invites participants to explore their own heart wounds by experiencing a Healing Group and learn how to help others do the same. (Sometimes the Healing Group experience portion of the Initial Equipping is conducted separately from the facilitator training. Please check the Initial Equipping prerequisites to ensure you're completing the full Initial Equipping.) 

 Tell your story of pain and grief and bring your laments to God. 

 Experience the love of Christ by taking your pain to the cross. 

 Experience healing, restoration, and reconciliation with God, self, and neighbor. 

 Help the church become a place of healing for others.

Phoenix Arizona In Person - October 14th to 17th, 2025

 

At this initial equipping session, participants learn basic biblical and mental health  principles related to trauma care; explore if they themselves are carrying any wounds  of trauma or loss and bring those to Christ for healing; learn how to lead groups in a  participatory way; learn the program model; and develop plans for using what they have  learned in their community 


  • Full Initial Equipping Session (This is a complete Healing Group experience and the Initial Equipping facilitator training) includes testing and a facilitator practicum that we trust, will result in an apprentice Facilitation Certification.
  • Once qualified you will become an Apprentice/Caregiver Facilitator and be able to facilitate Healing Groups. Once you've completed 2 Healing Group Sessions you will be qualified to pursue Advanced Training, that will, enable you to certify others. "Multiplying Healing Disciples" 
  • Registration is required.
  • You are obligated to attend every session and participate for the duration of the event, if you wish to be accredited.

  • 4 Full days plus evening homework.
  • Date : October 14th to 17th 2025
  • The registration fee is $195 and includes lunch and snacks each day and all materials, books, certification, and facilitation of the program and testing.
